Richmond rovers

As part of the Sports & Recreation portfolio I have been working with the Richmond Rovers League Club (in the photo the Chairperson Gus) to scope a new building.

The current club house is in a poor state of disrepair and the changing rooms are inadequate to meet the needs of the club and our community.

Two weeks ago we hit a major milestone with the club by identifying a new location at the northern end of the existing carpark on the No. 1 Field. This would allow for the reinstatement of the slopes of the park at the current club house location and between the No. 1 and No. 2 Fields.

It is still early days pulling together the scope but it is being considered how to recycled materials of the old club house and gymnastics building, that the building is sustainable and can be utilised by the wider Grey Lynn community.
